He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Clay and Aggie Bray Smith; and his daughter Jennifer Shae Smith. He is survived by: his wife Pat Burgess Cheek Smith; his children, Shannon Smith (Lisa) of Randleman and Leanna Sartwell (Jim) of Liberty; his stepchildren, Christie Gunter, Lee Cheek (Bridget) and Jody Cheek (Angie); and his brothers, Jerry Smith, Bill Smith of Greensboro and Bob Smith of Ramseur. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
