We are sad to announce that on July 29, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Winfred McCoy Cheek of Ramseur, North Carolina. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hayworth Cheek and Effie Moffitt Cheek; and his sister McCoy Gathings. He is survived by: his wife Joan Mauldin Cheek; his children, Tresa Hatchett (Tony) of Ramseur and Torris Cheek (Cierra) of Greensboro; his sisters, Annie Haith of Greensboro and Zula Matthews (Lonnie) of Ramseur; his brother-in-law Howard Miller; and his siblings' children, Vivian Siler and Charles Lennon "Buddy" Staley. He is also survived by other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Loflin Funeral Home (147 Coleridge Rd, Ramseur, NC 27316). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Loflin Funeral Home Chapel (147 Coleridge Rd, Ramseur, NC 27316).
In lieu of flowers and food, memorials may be made to Ramseur Elementary School, 6755 Jordan Road, Ramseur, NC 27316, or to the Ramseur Food Pantry, 724 Liberty Street, Ramseur, NC 27316.
