He was predeceased by: his grandson Jadale Floyd; his parents, James Floyd and Annie Floyd; and his brothers, James D. Floyd, Neil A. Floyd and William R. Floyd.
He is survived by: his wife Annie Delois Floyd; his sons, Kevin Emanuel of Durham, David A. Floyd, Jr. (Latasha) of Rennert and Jonathan D. Floyd (Natalie) of Laurinburg; and his siblings, Anna J. Manuel of Fayetteville, Patricia Bates (Rudy) of Petersburg, Virginia and Arthur Floyd (Chearlon) of Georgia. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
