He was predeceased by: his mother Judith Ann Jernigan; and his grandmother Helen Neal Miller. He is survived by: his wife Sherrie Jernigan; his children, Deric Jernigan Jr. of Shannon, Dariene Jernigan and R'gintina Sullivan (Cody) of Rowland; his grandchildren, Miakya and Dawson; his father Lee Jernigan of Pembroke; his siblings, Cinda Jernigan of Rowland, Gwenna Jernigan of Rowland, Robin Jernigan of Rowland and Bradlee Jernigan of Pembroke; and his close friends, Keithan, Will, Mike and Chop.
