He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Wesley and Dorothy Helton Thornhill; his son Gregory Scott Thornhill; and his siblings, Billy Thornhill, Jean Johnson, Linda Harris and Nancy Parkinson.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Thornhill; his children, Meredith Maxwell (Tommy) of Lumberton, Keyna Humphrey (Robin) of Red Springs, Tracey Thornhill (Robert) of Raleigh and Douglas Thornhill (Leigh Anne) of Troutman; and his brothers, Michael Thornhill (Karyn) of Mississippi and James Thornhill of Mississippi. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Gregory Scott Thornhill, siblings, Billy Thornhill, Jean Johnson, Linda Harris and Nancy Parkinson.
