She is survived by: her sons, Sherman Chavis (Cathy) of Red Springs and Rev. Ronald W. Chavis (Doris) of Rowland; her siblings, Albert Ray Carter, Ray Carter, Rev. Eddie Carter (Sherry), Barbara Oxendine, Mary Angeline Locklear (Anthony), Susan "Vicky" Locklear and Sandra Locklear (Mackie); her grandchildren, Rev. Ronald Brent Chavis (Savannah), Jonathan "John Boy" Chavis and Kayla Danielle Chavis (Sandy); her great grandchildren, Zaleigh Elizabeth Chavis, Nehemiah Wilson Chavis, Sammie Noah Chavis and Hudson Jude Chavis; her close friend Connie Cummings (David); and her sister-in-law Annie "Aunt Bit" Hammonds. She is also survived by loving family members and dear friends.
