He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Cas" Pierce and NeEssie Seals Pierce; his siblings, Mary Lee Villa, Pamela Villa Borrero and Howard Pierce; and his daughters, Ashley Pierce and Amber Lawson.
He is survived by: his children, James Earl Pierce Jr. (Lynette) of Lumberton and Tina Locklear (Phillip) of Leland; his brothers, Curtis Pierce and Casey Pierce (Ann) of Lumberton; and his fiancée Tara Knappenberger. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
