John L. Brooks Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John L. Brooks (Red Springs, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 6, 2025 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland Brooks and Elizabeth Rogers Brooks; his wife Sarah E. Brooks; his children, Michael Brooks, Dwight Locklear and Melinda Brooks Jones; his great grandchild Amelia Ann Sanderson; and his siblings, James Robert, Calvin, Vintress, Bill, Charlie Ray, Thomas Brooks, Louise Brooks, Lillie Clark, Maybelle Freeman and Elizabeth "Nicey" Clark.
He is survived by: his children, Doris Jacobs (Haroldine), Arline Brooks, Annette Brooks, Pearlie Blue (Mike), Sarah Locklear (Johnny) and Arnold Brooks; his siblings, Queen E. Harris and Ervin Brooks; and his stepsiblings, David Locklear, Lillian Cummings, Janice Locklear, Carolyn Locklear and Pearlie Locklear. He is also survived by 8 children, 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
