Though Matilda may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her father Adam Fields, Jr.. She is survived by: her mother Mizay Blue of Red Springs; her children, Phillip Sanders (Tanya) of Fayetteville and Faith Sanders (Shane) of Pembroke; her siblings, William Fields of Red Springs, Adam Fields III of Rennert, Bonnie Fields-Taylor (Joey) of Red Springs, Louise Fields of Maxton and Crystal Greene (Montreal) of Winterville; and her grandson Adam Ray Sanders. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home (812 S Main St, Red Springs, NC 28377). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
