He was predeceased by: his close friend Evelyn Chavis; his parents, Henry Hiram Edwards and Mary Seals Edwards; and his siblings, Hugh Allen Edwards, Bruce Edwards, Vernon Edwards, Joe Edwards, Allen Edwards, James Edwards, Sara Kaye Edwards, Shelby Jean Edwards and Peggy Deluca.
He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer Smith; his son-in-law Leon Smith; and his sisters, Doris McLean, Mary Janet Lineberry and Susan Faye Lowery.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Island Grove Baptist Church (6045 NC-710, Pembroke, NC 28372). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
