He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewy Spencer Strader and Lillian Chaney Strader; his sons, Daniel Scott Strader and John Richard Dillard Jr.; and his siblings, Shelby Strader Guill, Dewy Jr. Strader, Alvis, Raeford and Bobby Strader.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Mae Strader; his children, Dana Strader (Todd) and Lisa Davis; his sister Shirley Hill; his grandchildren, Amanda Strader (Mark), Bridgett Barton (Dylan), Samantha Crowder (Robert Carter), Chris Davis, Jonathan Davis (Alex), Doug Ellison Jr., Clay Dillard, Gracie Dillard, Kalynn Evans (Josh) and Jared Dillard (Ali); his daughter-in-law Michelle Dillard; and his niece Pam Eanes.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mount Carmel Global Church (361 Mt Carmel Church Rd, Reidsville, NC 27320). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt Carmel Global Methodist Church and Ancora Compassionate Care.
