She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hubert and Carrie Brame Carter; her husband James Albert Stone; and her siblings, John Walter Carter, James H. Carter, Jr., Charlie F. Carter, Jerry Wayne Carter, Louise C. Smith and Carrie Elizabeth Snyder.
She is survived by: her daughter Cathy S. Oakes (Tim) of Greensboro; her sister Nona C. Brooks of Greensboro; her grandchildren, Camden Lee Oakes of Raleigh and Cara Brielle O. Rutledge (David) of Baton Rouge, LA; her great grandchild Brielle Ann Rutledge; and her sisters-in-law, Irvene J. Stone of Reidsville and Mary J. Carter of Greensboro. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
