He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Robert Tate and Nellie Jarrell Tate; his siblings, Robert Tate, Cecil Tate, Dewey Tate, John "Monk" Dillard Tate, Lorene Lawrence, Elaine Smith and Debra Boulding; and his stepsister Betty Carol Ellington.
He is survived by: his wife Cindy East Tate; his son Ronnie Tate; his stepdaughter Sharley Honeycutt (Adam); his sister Bessie Sparks; his stepsiblings, Wayne Tate (Betty) and Glenda Gunn (Starling); his grandchildren, Tyler Tate (Hannah), Sadie Honeycutt and Caleb Honeycutt; and his great grandchildren, Claire Tate and Lainey Tate.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Wilkerson Funeral Home (1909 Richardson Dr, Reidsville, NC 27320). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel (1909 Richardson Dr, Reidsville, NC 27320).
