He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Cooper and Louise McQueen Baynes; and his wife Sybil Sue Bennett Baynes. He is survived by: his daughters, Wendy K. Watson (Jeff) of Reidsville and Heather C. Liberty of Ruffin; and his grandchildren, Michael Watson (Jennifer), Justin Watson (Kristen), Hunter Liberty and Elle Liberty.
