She was predeceased by: her parents, Odell Hanes and Kathleen Cassady Smith; and her husband Elwood Soyars. She is survived by: her children, Justin Soyars of Reidsville and Janae Carter (Scott) of Reidsville; her brother Phillip Smith (Pat) of Reidsville; her sister-in-law Tammy (Rick Hopper); her grandchildren, Faith Davis, Lilly Soyars and Gracelyn Soyars; and her caregivers, Pat Smith, Tammy Hopper Jennifer Moore, Ann Crowder and Marsha Lankford.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 31st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Citty Funeral Home Chapel (308 Lindsey St, Reidsville, NC 27320).
