He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Bryant Smith and Annie Coleman Smith; his brothers, J. C., Dennis and Harry Smith; and his significant other Sandra Joan Miles.
He is survived by: his siblings, Polly Parrish, Regina Lamonds (Roger) and Tom Smith (Carol); his children, Amber Patterson (John) and Chris Murray (Jeanne); and his close friend Steve McSpadden. He is also survived by four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Wilkerson Funeral Home (1909 Richardson Dr, Reidsville, NC 27320). A burial will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Reidlawn Cemetery (1530 Barnes St, Reidsville, NC 27320).
