He was predeceased by: his parents, Benny Carter and Leola Carter; and his siblings, Bessie Simpson and Charles Carter. He is survived by: his wife Betty Carter; his children, Paul Anthony Carter, Christopher Carter and Chasity Carter (Will); his grandchildren, Aaliyah Carter, Kierra Scales and Keion Carter; his great grandchildren, Kaiden Carter and Maliyah Millner; his nephews, Larry Simpson (Patsy), Calvin Simpson (Jackie), Tim Simpson and Derwood Simpson (Wendy); his great-nephew Darnell Simpson (Chandler); his great-niece Ashley Best (Aaron); and his godchildren, Sonya Gwynn (Tony) and Landon Cobb (Charity). He is also survived by extended family members and dear friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home (721 E Morehead St, Reidsville, NC 27320). Visitation was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church (179 Jones Chapel Rd, Reidsville, NC 27320). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
