He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Lawson Clinton and Mary Magdalene London; his aunt Claudia Carroll Gay; his brother Bruce Lawson Clinton; his son-in-law Jason Breedlove; his sister Mary London; and his nephew Timmy Bolden.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy Piner Clinton; his children, Jessica Breedlove (Dusty) of Elon, Richard Dean Clinton, Jr. (Angela) of Ruffin, Joseph Daniel Riley, Tyler Shane Smith of Durham and Elizabeth Clinton (Nicholas Overaker) of Raleigh; his sister Teresa C. Bolden (Tim) of Martinsville; his half-sister Chrystal Soohey (Lonnie) of Ohio; and his grandchildren, Landon Richards, Amirah Zamudio and Alaina Clinton.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Greenview Cemetery.
