With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Riley Whitley (Reidsville, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 22, 2026 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Harrison Whitley and Robbie Jean Lowry Whitley; his brother Thomas Harrison Whitley, Jr.; his daughter Robin Lowry Whitley; and his granddaughter Robin Elizabeth Hooper.
He is survived by: his wife Denice Shorter Whitley; his daughters, Caroline Whitley Askew (Mike), Lowry Whitley Hill (Jeff) and Holt Whitley Hooper (Billy); his grandchildren, Ann Margaret Askew, Whitley Askew, Aidan Askew, Jackson Hill, Vance Hooper, Kate Hill, Archie Hooper and Carter Askew; and his sister-in-law Jennifer Watkins Whitley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church of Reidsville for the Robin Lowry Whitley/Robin Elizabeth Hooper Scholarship Fund.
