She is survived by: her husband Robert Vernon; her sons, Russell Vernon (Amanda) and Ron Vernon (Suzanne); her grandchildren, Madison McKinney (CJ) and Carter Vernon; her great grandchildren, Chase Vernon McKinney and Baby McKinney; her sisters, Edna Benfield and Kay Stanley (David); and her grandmother Hallie Perkins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cherry Grove Fire Department and the Cherry Grove Ruritan Club.
