He is survived by: his son Dennis Stephen Chappell, Jr. (Joy); his granddaughters, Tate Elizabeth and Charley Grace Chappell; and his siblings, Susan Worrell, Sarah Jessup, Sherry Chappell, Swanson Chappell of Greensboro and Stacey Chappell of Greensboro.
