He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Travis and Nellie Wray Hammack; and his wife Virginia Dare Matherly "Peggy" Hammack. He is survived by: his siblings, Betsy Hammack of Yanceyville, NC, Donald Hammack of Yanceyville, NC, Joseph Hammack (Susan) of Yanceyville, NC and Barbara Jean Shelton (Roger) of Reidsville; his sons, Roger Hammack (Mae Cummings) of Brown Summit and Craig Hammack (Wendy) of Reidsville; his grandchildren, Kendra Harrison (Willie) of Burlington, Dare Hammack (Brandy Sizemore) of Rock Hill, SC and Kamron Hammack (Ivy Rosario) of Raleigh, NC; his stepgrandchildren, Kendra Cummings (Shadelia Gregory) of Ridgeway, VA and Kevon Cummings of Reidsville; and his great grandchildren, Jabez Cummings, Leah Jeffries, Leland Jeffries Jr., Lennox Jeffries and Pierre Harrison.
