He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Powell and Marie Powell. He is survived by: his wife Lisa Parrish Powell; his daughter Tracey Bolick (Brent); his grandchildren, Caleb Bolick (Grace), Madeline Bolick (Calvin Norsworthy), Claire Bolick and Hannah Bolick; and his sisters, Carolyn Lasley, Shirley Blalock (Linwood) and Kaye Willard (Kirby). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
