He was predeceased by: his parents, Pugh R. Ray and Josephine Ray; his wife Imogene; and his brothers, Wiley, Tommy and Carl.
He is survived by: his sons, Tim Ray of Apex, NC and Ken Ray of Cary, NC.; his siblings, J. P. Ray of Garden City, MI. and Ava Ray of Wendell, NC; and his grandsons, Zach Ray (Caroline) and Daniel Ray (Alayna).
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Raleigh Memorial Park (7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home (7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Raleigh Memorial Park & Mitchell Funeral Home (7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612).
