He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Edward (Doc) and Nellie Gardner Ivey; his brothers, George Edward Ivey and Dalton Ray Ivey; and his brother-in-law John Morris.
He is survived by: his daughter Sarah Annette Ivey Peery of Greenville, NC; his grandsons, Roger William Peery (Meredith) of Winterville, NC and Benjamin Jarrett Peery (Andrea Kantar) of Astoria, NY.; his wife Sarah Keel Ivey; and his siblings, Larry Thomas Ivey (Jane) and Glenda Ivey Morris. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
