He is survived by: his wife Connie Poplin Vanhoy; his children, Michelle Earnhardt (Jeffrey) of Richfield and Kevin Vanhoy (Brandy) of Richfield; his siblings, Sherrill Vanhoy of Richfield, Jean Stroupe of Richfield and Lynn Vanhoy (Kelly) of Richfield; his grandchildren, Timothy Earnhardt, Tiffany Martinez, Katie Cole, Gracie Earnhardt, Joseph Vanhoy and Nicholas Vanhoy; and his great grandchildren, Noah, Eva and Ellie.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care - Albemarle (1835 Badin Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Mountain Creek Primitive Baptist Church (40232 Mountain Creek Rd, New London, NC 28127).
