She was predeceased by: her husband Butler James; her parents, Billy Jenkins and Josephine Jenkins; her siblings, Roy Jenkins, Leslie Jenkins, Cleve Jenkins, Mark Jenkins, Matthew Jenkins, Beatrice Payton and Helen Carlyle; her daughters-in-law, Barbara James, Judy James and Patricia Ann James; her sons, Jessie "Buster" James and Cecil Wayne James; and her son-in-law Thomas Anderson.
She is survived by: her children, Haywood James, Billy James, Rodney James (Glenda Turner), Kathy King and Sandra Anderson. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 22 great-great grandchildren; and countless friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home of Richlands (210 W Hargett St, Richlands, NC 28574). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Onslow Memorial Park (3280 Richlands Hwy, Jacksonville, NC 28540).
