He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilson Doyle Reid, Sr. and Pearl Marshall Reid. He is survived by: his wife Carole; his sister Marie Gaylor; his brother-in-law Stephen "Steve" Deising (Mary Ellen); his niece Erin Deising; his nephew Michael Deising (Michelle); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ben and Ally; his godson Richard Jay Clayton; his brothers, George Caraway and Richard "Dick" Clayton; and his friend Major Wayne Hatchell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Butch's honor to All Saints' Episcopal Church.
