It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dabney Backus (Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina), who passed away on July 16, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Visitation was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the H. D. Pope Funeral Home (520 Smith Church Rd, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Wayman AME Church Cemetery (7020 Wayman Church Rd, Enfield, NC 27823).
