He is survived by: his children, Robbie Gums of Goose Creek, SC and Stephanie Dailey (Charles Sonnier) of Winnsboro, LA.; his siblings, Jeanne Harris (Steve) of Emporia, VA and Larry Gums (Susan) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his grandsons, Brock Blanford and Weston Dailey; and his close friends, Neill Graham and Randy Joyner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
