He was predeceased by: his parents, Hulus Banks and Nettie Lee Banks of Roanoke Rapids; his brothers, Aubrey Ray Banks and Gilbert Lee Banks; his nephew Chavalis Boyd; and his brother-in-law Darrell Dean Pleasants.
He is survived by: his sisters, Brenda Pleasants, Jacqueline Bowser (Clayton) and Gwendolyn Boyd (Charles Sr); his aunt Florence Sterling (Issac Gene); and his cousin Dorothy. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
