He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy V. Barber; and his parents, Mallory Palmer Barber and Allie Scott Barber. He is survived by: his children, Eddie Atkinson (Kim) of Raleigh, NC, Jack Barber (Kelly) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Margaret Davidson (Jeff) of Mount Lebanon, PA and Mallory Scott Barber, Jr. (Julie) of Carolina Beach, NC; his grandchildren, Logan Atkinson, Byron Atkinson (Kara), Samuel Barber (Jaime), Carter Davidson, James Davidson, Harrison Barber (Carley) and Ethan Barber; his great grandchildren, Asher and Lily Atkinson; and his sisters, Jen Esham (Ocracoke), Swiss and Nadja Hürlimann (Peter) of Hünenburg, CH. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Barber Home (103 Bayberry Ct, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the All Saints' Episcopal Church.
