She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert King and Vera Haff King; her sister-in-law Brenda King; her cousin Camille Hubbard; and her daughter-in-law Angela Hale.

She is survived by: her husband Howard O. Hale, Jr.; her son Howard O. Hale, III (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Nick Hale (Katie) of Littleton, Tyler Hale (Anna) of Roanoke Rapids, Kylie Burnette and Avery Pardue; her great grandchild Carlyle Hale; her brother Charles King (Judy) of Goldsboro; her niece Jennifer King of Raleigh; her siblings-in-law, Jeanette Hale, John Hale and Walt Hale; her caregiver Sue Hubert; her close friend Gwen Jones; and her pet Sully. She is also survived by grandmother and great-grandmother and loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
