She was predeceased by : her sister Shorty; and her parents, Manyour Whitaker, Jr. and Susie Etta Whitaker. She is survived by : her children, Nicole Abernathy of Weldon, NC, Casey W. Lynch (Lisa) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Conelia Lynch of Roanoke Rapids, NC; her siblings, Laura W. Brown, Susie W. Hockaday (Earl) of Alexandria, VA, Matthew L. Whitaker (Judy) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and McArthur Whitaker (Doris) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; her godson Sherwood Alston (Joann); and her close friends, Ken Pittman, Kelvin Fenner and Mattie Hockaday-Brown. She is also survived by two aunts; six nieces; six nephews; along with a multitude of relatives and friends.
