She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Dean Hurst and Joseph Michael Forte; and her siblings, Eddie Forte, Brenda Shaw and Peyton Parham.
She is survived by: her husband James L. Edwards; her daughters, Brittany Nielson (Devin) and Jenna Edwards; her siblings, David Forte (Tammy) and Tina Powell (Robert); her grandchildren, Cadence Galloway, Madilyn Galloway, Alaina Nielson, Bailey Garza and Peyton Noah; and her siblings' children, Calvin Forte (Joy), Mike Forte (Jennifer), Jeffrey Shaw, Jennifer Harris (Garrett), Heidi Bishop (Chris), Lee Powell (Amanda), Joshua Powell (Ashley), Cody Forte (Heather) and Suzanne Bell.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service (507 US-158, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hawkins Chapel Methodist Church, Smith Methodist Church, or to one's favorite charity.
