He was predeceased by: his parents, Filmore Dowtin and Carrie Dowtin; and his siblings, John Thomas Dowtin, George Lee Dowtin, Clentis Dowtin, Andrew Dowtin, Clara Eugene Williams, Edith Mae Dowtin, Hattie Pearl Dowtin, Pattie Lou Dowtin, Dolly Ann Smith, Mary Ellen Ponton, Rebecca Dowtin and Maggie Oliver.
He is survived by: his children, Danny Dowtin, Robert Ellary Dowtin, Sheryl Moody, Denise Dowtin, Debra Dowtin and Sandra Oberton; and his sister Minnie Pearl Garris. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, host of great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
