Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Susan Forbes Avery of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 80, on July 14, 2025. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jaspar Gwynn Forbes and Eula Harris Forbes of South Hill, VA.; her husband John "Jack" T. Avery, III; and her siblings, Jaqueline Isherwood and Charles Forbes.
She is survived by: her children, Susanne Avery Sullivan (Joel Fisher) of Clayton, John Thomas Avery IV (Darlene) of Wilson Mills and Laura Avery Manning (Nick) of Roanoke Rapids; her grandchildren, Jessie Sullivan of Mishawaka, IN, Grant Sullivan and Camille Sullivan of Four Oaks; her sister-in-law Beth Pierce of Lovingston, VA; and her pets, Molly and River. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Wrenn Funeral Home (1015 W 5th St, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Shiloh Methodist Church (421 Lawrenceville Rd, Gaston, NC 27832).
