Thomas James Mason Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas James Mason of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, born in Selma, North Carolina, who passed away on July 4, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper R. Mason and Goldie Ellen Johnson Mason; and his sisters, Doris Johnson and Joyce Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Loretta Stainback Mason; his children, Thomas Bryan Mason (Karen), John Kevin Mason and Pamela Mason Dennison (Larry); his grandchildren, Golden, Jessie, Brewster Dennison (Stacie), Amanda, Kendall, Lee Mason (Andrea), Alex, Caleb Mason, Caitlin Crandall (Conner) and Ashley Reber; his siblings, Bobby Mason (Sarah), Norma Edwards (Ozzie) and Nelda Pope (Donald); and also Tasha Hawkins. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, no formal visitation will be held, but friends may pay their respects at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service from 2:00 - 7:00 pm Tuesday.

The family requests no flowers, however, cards mailed to them will be appreciated.
