We announce the death of Kenneth Dean Poplin of Roaring River, North Carolina, who passed away on October 13, 2026, at the age of 89. Kenneth will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Wesley and Rozella Sparks Poplin; and his siblings, Vernon Poplin and Carol Poplin LaGrow. He is survived by: his wife Erline Billings Poplin; his daughters, Diane Elizabeth Poplin Spainhour (Keith) of Roaring River and Amy Jo Poplin Russell (Edwin) of Ronda; his brother Bobby Alton Poplin (Myrtle); and his grandchildren, Cameron Price (Sheila), Noah Russell, Jacob Russell and Autumn Russell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Macedonia Baptist Church (2202 Macedonia Church Rd, Ronda, NC 28670). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Flowers will be accepted or donations made to the Macedonia Baptist Church Building Fund , 1120 Austin Little Mtn Rd, Ronda, NC 28670.
