Loretta Nance Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Loretta Nance of Roaring River, North Carolina, who passed away on November 12, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Wayne Nance and Geraldine Nance; her husband Richard Darnell Nance; her son Philip Nance; and her siblings, Gary Nance, Spencer Nance and Ellan Nance.

She is survived by: her grandsons, Andrew Nance (Connie) and Derek Nance; her great grandchild Pearl Nance; and her close friend Lisa Strickland.

A funeral service was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel.

Memorials may be made in Loretta's memory to Ronda Baptist Tabernacle, 231 Lakeview St., Ronda, NC 28670.

“Loretta was a Denton school classmate for 12 years. I have the highest respect for Loretta. Her standards, conduct and friendship were obvious. Her work in putting together the Phoenix, our senior annual, was outstanding and much appreciated. She and I with two others visited the Statue of Liberty on our senior trip to New York; it was a highlight of our trip and I am so glad I shared it with Loretta. Sorry for the family for such a loss; remember her with sweet sorrow. RIP. John Harrison”
