He is survived by: his wife Mavis Self Cody; his children, John Stogsdall (Rebecca) of Hayesville, NC, Jacob Cody (Joy) of Bryson City, NC, Michelle Ledford (Terry) of Shelby, NC and Amy Shope (Daniel) of Forest City, NC; and his siblings, Lloyd Cody of Stecoah, NC, Hardy Cody of Stecoah, NC, Jack Cody of Stecoah, NC, Eddy Cody of Bryson City, NC, Thurman Cody of Gastonia, NC, Olean Brown of Stecoah, NC, Velvie Knight of Stecoah, NC, Brenda Brown of Marietta, GA and Wanda Moore of Rex, GA.. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Stecoah Baptist Church (89 Hyde Town Rd, Robbinsville, NC 28771). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
