Barbara Gibson Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Quick Gibson, 84, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022. She was born November 4, 1937 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late John and Laura Stewart Quick.

Mrs. Gibson worked in textiles and spent many years with Fruit of the Loom and Gilead Manufacturing. Following her time there, she worked at L. J. Bell Elementary School. Mrs. Gibson loved to cook and enjoyed helping others.

Services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, January 15th at Watson – King Funeral Home in Rockingham. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home at 1034 Oak Avenue, Rockingham Friday from 5 from 8 pm.

Mrs. Gibson is survived by a daughter Ann Rishel and husband David of Rockingham; a grandchild, Melinda Kay Rishel and partner William Watkins; great grandchildren, Michaela Zamarripa, Malyiah Watkins, William Watkins, Jr., and Makiyah Watkins; a sister, Linda Meyer of Aurora, IN; and a brother, Danny Griggs of Pennsylvania; and nieces and nephew, Linda Kay Cultice, Shirley Ann Probst, and Junior Miller.
