Bobby Gene Johnson Obituary

Bobby Gene Johnson, 86, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Mr. Johnson was born July 29, 1936 in Robeson County, NC , a son of the late Alonzo Johnson and Lela Ann Williamson Johnson Harris. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Norman Church of God of Prophecy and retired from Sealed Air Corporation. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hellon Frances Patterson Johnson and a brother, Edward Johnson.

Surviving are his children, Bobby Gene Johnson, Jr., Donna Johnson, Jennifer Carter (Thomas) and Cynthia Whitley; grandchildren, Jessica Carter (Christopher), Kelsey Holt (Christopher) and Nicholas Carter (Skylar); great grandchildren, Caitlynn "Caitiebug" Chappell, Hudson Chappell, Everleigh Holt and Wyatt Holt; brother, Jimmy Johnson and sisters, Faye Allison, Helen Ann Tindall, and Margaret Johnson.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, November 11, 2022 at the Norman Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Cynthia Whitley officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends from 12:45 -1:45 pm Friday at the church.
