He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Page Baucom and Mae Murray James Baucom; his daughter Shawn Baucom; and his brothers, Kenneth and Donald Baucom.

He is survived by: his children, David M. Baucom II and Kristina Baucom of Rockingham; his grandchildren, Cameron Baucom, Miranda Baucom and Lauren Waters; and his sister Sylvia Ann Hanger of Tampa, FL..
