He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Wilson Dickerson and Roosevelt Dickerson; and his siblings, Franklin Dickerson, Willie Dickerson, James Dickerson, David Dickerson, Joseph Dickerson and Dorothy Blackstock.
He is survived by: his sisters, Virginia Bigelow, Mattie Dejournette, Margaret Williamson and Coletha Simpson; his wife Rosetta Hampton Dickerson; his children, Debra Logan (Melvin) and Elmer Dickerson, Jr.; his granddaughter Tamerara E. Logan; his sister Millie Miller (Albert); his sisters-in-law, Mae Lou Dickerson and Wyvonne Dickerson; his nephews, Lee Simpson and Eugene Dejournette; and his adoptive daughter Jessica Bright. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
