He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert Stewart and Bessie Stewart; his former wife Bonnie Atkinson; and his siblings, Clarence Stewart, Kenneth Stewart, Coy Stewart, Larry Stewart and Dianne Stewart Bailey.
He is survived by: his wife Winona Watkins Stewart; his daughters, Kimberly Sweatt (Michael), Kathy Porter (Stephen) of Rockingham and Michelle Ethridge (Trey) of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Jerrilynne Allen, Taylor Sweatt, Stephen, Kaili Sweatt, Alex Ethridge, Keaton Sweatt and Emily Ethridge; his great grandchildren, Tucker, Levi, Brantley and Kai; his grandchild Lochlan Porter; his brother Ted Stewart of Bolivia, NC.; his stepchildren, William Rainwater (Denise) of Southport and Stacey Rainwater of Rockingham; his stepgrandson Will Rainwater (Aila); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Abram of Southport and Kieran of Southport. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
