She is survived by: her husband James Chavis, Jr. (Jim); her children, James Chavis III and Emily L. Kirkley (Tom Kirkley); and her grandchildren, James Chavis IV, Michael Chavis, Jadon Walker, Abigail Chavis and Don Chavis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
