He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearson Dawkins and Gladys Pierce Dawkins; his son Freddie Dawkins; his granddaughter Nancy Dawkins; and his brother Ed Dawkins.
He is survived by: his daughters, Annette Dawkins, Lisa Barren and Duanna Harrelson; his siblings, Pearson Dawkins Jr. (Doris), Cheryl Lampley (Wilson) and Elaine Shelton; and his sister-in-law Judy Dawkins. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and twelve nieces and nephews.
