It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Leonard Thomas of Rockingham, North Carolina, who passed away on February 27, 2026, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Vance Thomas of Rockingham and Mary Grace Webb Thomas of Rockingham; his wife Dorothy "Doris" Ussery Thomas; his sister Jean Thomas Bynum; his brother-in-law Homer Bynum; and his brother Joe Thomas.
He is survived by: his sons, Jim Thomas (Jennifer), Mike Thomas and Randy Webb (Sandra); his daughters-in-law, Malinda and Julie; and his grandchildren, Eddie Thomas (Christy), Robbie Thomas (Sierra), Kristin Thomas (Danny), Catherine Emmer (Matthew), Amanda Thomas Butler (Jeremy), Brian Webb (Jackie), Daniel Webb and Stephen Webb (Molly).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Beverly Hills Baptist Church (110 Kemberly St, Rockingham, NC 28379). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Northam Cemetery.
