Viriginia Slate Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Viriginia Slate (Rockingham, North Carolina), born in Stokes, North Carolina, who passed away on September 24, 2025 at the age of 94. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Viriginia Slate to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Plato Durham Slate and Dixie Lois Hall; and her brother James Durham Slate. She is survived by: her son Risdon Nichols Slate (Claudia); her grandchildren, Renee Morehouse (John), Jimmy Stein (Tao) and Beth Tooley (Dave); and her sibling's children, Jim Slate (Gloria), Dale Slate (Anne-Marie), Trent Slate (Danielle), Nancy Martin (Steve) and Jennifer Dawson (Darren).
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Watson King Funeral Home (306 E Franklin St, Rockingham, NC 28380).
